Cherry blossoms flourish from trunk — Washington DC

"There are always flowers for those who want to see them." —Henri Matisse

Entirely captivated, amazed, and delighted by *this* cherry tree, which has a few delicate pockets of blossoms bursting open from its trunk.  Definitely a sign that truly beautiful things can come from unexpected places and paths!

Path ahead — Washington DC

"Never go backward. Attempt, and do it with all your might. Determination is power." — Charles Simmons

Welcomed the weekend with a glorious walk, treating myself to the first *iced* Americano of the season.  It was *almost* hot outside — warm sunshine coaxed buds out of hiding.  Branches full of blooms danced in gentle breezes.  Perfect spring day.

Vitamin D helped rejuvenate my nearly empty “batteries,” and I am looking forward to a delightful low-key weekend with family, flowers, and friends.  {For a while, snap.eat.love. might earn a rename of snap.spring.love with (endless) pictures of cherry blossoms, trees, and flowers!  There is just so much beauty to capture and celebrate!}

So grateful for quality family time, playing with a zoom lens, happy hospital discharges and steady, cheerful recoveries, surprise time with good friends over coffee and casual meals, making comforting butternut squash soup, (finally) dealing with an unresolved project, and listening to stories.  All in all, so very fortunate and excited for this special time.

Stately branches bask at dusk — Washington DC

"Family is not an important thing. It’s everything." —Michael J. Fox

So very happy to be home with my family. There is nothing like it.

No matter how much we travel, transition, or move, *home* will always be with family, where love is unconditional and unwavering. Home, then, can exist in several physical locations…especially if it’s always in the bonds of the heart.

…and then the storm cleared — near Mountain Lake’s 18th green - Florida

"A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots." —Marcus Garvey

Relishing special time with family. Spellbound by every detail of incredible stories from the Greatest Generation. Sharing one-on-one time in bright outfits. Weathering crazy rain and watching close upsets.

History can teach us so much and help guide our future. Heart is very full with admiration, gratitude, and love.

Lake Tahoe near Bliss Creek (March 2014)

Rich emerald greens and blues — striking snow-capped mountains — crisp, invigorating air - Tahoe is truly captivating.  It has (quickly) become an incredibly special place…and not *just* because of the stunning surroundings, but the vibrant, passionate, interesting community here.  Exploring and appreciating the surroundings is made all the better with great company, and preparing to leave for a few weeks made me realize just how *fortunate* I am.

…and with that, the bags are (mostly!) packed.  Cannot wait to embark in a few hours on a whirlwind trip filled with family, adventures, celebrations, (hopefully) lots of laughter, and, of course, love!

Prescribed fire near Tunnel Creek — Lake Tahoe (March 2014)

Scenes from this weekend’s hike: saw our first controlled burn up-close (rather than smoke nearby or on the horizon!)  Learning more and more about fire and fuels management living out west.  Lucky to have amazing fire and forestry departments to protect Lake Tahoe!

Ripples across Lake Tahoe — view from Tunnel Creek hike (March 2014)

What a glorious weekend: spring weather, hiking with new friends, stimulating conversations, raucous laughter, organizing, quality time — just the best.

…and then today, a Monday filled with happy things: friends, coffee, productivity, energy, and insightful reflections.

Here is to a wonderful (crazy) week filled with goodness-for-the-soul: family, travel, warm weather, and lots of love.  Feeling very energized and lucky.

"Strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle." — Napoleon Hill

Deep breaths.  Wise words.  Stunning beauty.  All reminders that sometimes all we can do is never give up, even when we are struggling. {Re: this post.}

Deep breaths.  Digging deep.  Willing the body to move with heart — fueled with espresso, almond butter, and gratitude.

Deep breaths.  Deep breaths and thanks.  Deep breaths and love.

Trail towards Bliss Creek — Lake Tahoe - March 2014

"I see my path, but I don’t know where it leads. Not knowing where I’m going is what inspires me to travel it." —Rosalia de Castro

Love exploring new trails — both literally and metaphorically. Transitioning and starting something new can be *daunting* and even overwhelming, but it almost *always* leads to (unimaginably) wonderful things.

"To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often." — Winston Churchill

…and so, in Mr. Churchill’s wise assessment, Tahoe’s weather is nothing but perfect.  This morning, there was a half-inch of snow and a sky filled with fluffy snowflakes…that quickly melted into an afternoon of glorious sunshine!  From yesterday’s crazy clouds rolling over the mountains to the pines waving in today’s spring breezes, lots of changes are taking place with the lovely longer days.

It is a *special* week.  Though busy, there will be celebrations, laughter, coffee, love, long walks, and hopefully a few spectacular sunsets.  Currently cherishing chance meetings and soulmates; sending lots of love at the beginning of this *particularly* wonderful day.

First signs of spring — even on a cold, rainy day - Lake Tahoe

"No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn." — Hal Borland

Medically rough day, but focusing on the *good:* new buds, long naps, rallying for the start of a favorite class, and unbelievable support, for which I am eternally grateful. For all the comments and messages from my last post, thank you — each meant the world to me. I may be slow to reply, but my thankfulness knows no bounds. Love certainly catalyzes positivity!

To a great week ahead!
